Fun and free family-friendly events in November

ArtStarts on Saturdays presents Andy the Musical Scientist

We had a blast at our Artstarts on Saturdays performance last month presented by Continental Breakfast. Continental Circus for Kids had us expanding our understanding of identity and representation. If you didn't catch the performance, tune in to this month's ArtStarts on Saturdays performance with Andy the Musical Scientist.

We're also grateful for our guest Explores artist, Jessica Kang, for leading us through our surprise-themed workshop using watercolours. You can watch the episode on our Facebook page

Artstarts on Saturdays presents: Andy the Musical Scientist

ArtStarts on Saturdays is our digital programming that premieres on the last Saturday of every month. Now families from across the province can enjoy our programming.

This month your family can enjoy Andy the Musical Scientist.

The performance will stream on our Facebook page from October 29 - November 25. Andy, formerly of Delhi to Dublin, combines music and science to inspire children to think outside the box. Using homemade inventions from reusable household items. Audiences will experience looping, beatboxing, theremin and more. Andy the Musical Scientist demonstrates creativity through technology, music, and science in unexpected ways to captivate young audiences and encourage them to follow their dreams.

Stream Andy the Musical Scientist's performance on our Facebook page until November 25.

We’re gearing up for our upcoming exhibition, ‘PIP’

We're gearing up for the launch of our touring exhibition 'PIP'. Our Gallery team has been hard at work dreaming, scheming, and conceiving of a very special touring exhibition exploring identity, self-acceptance, and diversity. If you are an educator, caregiver, or adult with young learners in your orbit, then you will appreciate the themes of social and emotional learning embedded into the messaging of this interactive experience.

‘PIP’ is an interactive exhibition. ‘PIP’ has a closet and even expresses emotions. For non-visual access, ‘PIP’ even speaks.

The exhibition's first stop is Cove Cliff Elementary. You can visit the school after school hours from November 14 - December 5 to experience 'PIP' yourself!

For those looking for more ways to engage with the exhibition, our very own Program Coordinator, Peisen Ding, curated 7 episodes that complement the theme. Check out the episodes and Peisen’s exploration of each on our blog.
