Digital ArtStarts programming in August

ArtStarts on Saturdays Presents: Each One, Beloved with Jillian Christmas

ArtStarts on Saturdays is our digital programming that premieres on the last Saturday of every month. Now families from across the province can enjoy ArtStarts programming.

All month long we’re hosting Each One, Beloved with Jillian Christmas on Facebook. Each One, Beloved encourages understanding through modeled vulnerability and the poetic sharing of lived experience. This work demands that we be in the right relationship with oneself. Without having knowledge of self, how can we show up to conversations of privilege, accountability, or responsibility? Join as we explore family history, queer lineage, environmental responsibility, and more, to come out whole on the other side. Tune in July 30 - August 27 on our Facebook page to watch.

ArtStarts explores contrast

For the month of August we are exploring contrast!

Our guest facilitator this month is Lin Li!

Lin Li is an art and museum curator, multi-media artist, and writer based in Vancouver, on the lands and waters of the xʷməθkʷəyəm (Musqueam), Simpcw and Syilx peoples. She has a background in art history and holds a MA from the University of Alberta in East Asian Studies and is also a freelance, self-taught photographer.  As an artist, she loves to explore the possibilities of art making brought by different materials and technology. Through her artistic creation, she aims to showcase and question the chaotic, unbalanced, and overwhelming life experience of the individual living in our age.

A new episode premieres every Saturday at 11am on Facebook. See you there!

Workshop dates: August 6, 13, & 20
