ArtStarts: How would you describe your experience of the ArtStarts Ignites program?
I am very grateful to have been a part of ArtStarts. This residency reminded me how much I don’t know, and how much more there is to learn. How does one be intentional about their art practice? How does one interact with humans, with all our differences and similarities? How does one approach conversations and the art-making process with an empathetic and ethical lens? All these questions were discussed during this program, and my understanding of these questions has expanded. Thank you ArtStarts.
ArtStarts: How would you describe your experience of sharing an aspect of your practice with young people, through the development of your ArtStarts Explores episode?
Sharing my art practice with young people was truly a blast! As an adult, I get so caught up in if what I’m doing is, “good enough”. Teaching kids is a great reminder that the final product really doesn’t account for much. The process and the ideas we are exploring is the true gold behind it all. Thank you ArtStarts for reminding me to be playful, and to experience the joyous process of making art!
ArtStarts: Can you share three words to describe your Explores process?
Adventure, Collaboration, Nature.
