OUR MISSION? Scrap Arts Music is an original, genre-defying performing arts company that expands on the foundations of traditional and world percussion. With its groundbreaking take on live performance meets material environmentalism, Scrap Arts Music creates its own orchestra, compositions and choreography using materials around us. Our imaginative compositions are performed live with over 145 acoustic instruments of our own making. We delight in inspiring the next generation with inventive, exciting shows and multifaceted outreach. MAKING CONNECTIONS WITH DIVERSE GROUPS In addition to the Mainstage production, Scrap Arts Music artistic director Gregory Kozak leads outreach activities that include educational matinees, workshops and master classes.
Our preference is for interior bookings to happen before Nov 11 and after April 1 - snow being the main reason! Rental trucks are just 4 season tires - not equipped with proper snow tires. That said, LML booking in the in between times are great.

SAM2 by Scrap Arts Music re-invents do-it-yourself musical performance from the ground up with a creative, student-friendly and eco-positive mandate. Thrown-away material becomes the foundation for a new generation of sound and visual discovery. Unforgettable power-percussion is the result. Scrap Arts Music transforms "scrap into art" and "arts into music". SAM2 features the musicians, sculptural instruments and original music from Scrap Arts Music's international touring productions, customized for presentation in school gyms. Using instruments crafted from salvaged and recycled materials, expect a fast-paced show built around re-imagined exhaust hoses, artillery shells and recycled metals. We introduce students to green ingenuity, creativity and excellence. We perform excerpts from our hit show and embellish them with an educational "scrap" instrument overview and our ever-popular student participation.
A wonderful performance, fit in nicely with the Earth Day activities, many classes have also made their own rhythm instruments. We all liked how the group involved students from our school in the performance. I would recommend this performance to other schools. Stephen Arnold, 108 Mile Elementary
This was an excellent show. Visually very appealing when students entered the gym. The performer was an excellent speaker to our audience. Kids really enjoyed the opportunity to play with the group and enjoyed asking questions at the end. Would love to have SAM 2 again in the near future. D. Brunelle, Shaka Lake Middle School
Our staff and students are still talking about your outstanding performance. Your energy was infectious, but you always managed to keep the audience focused and in control. Sandy Gallup, Juniper Ridge Elementary
