The Jellyfish Project (JFP) presents HOPE IN ACTION, our 2024/25 impactful offering! Vibrant, live musical performances are woven within the engaging slideshow visuals and interactive discussion with students about our environment and our future. Our presenters are professional, young, eco-conscious musicians with the passion and charisma to draw the students in, opening them up to the JFP’s thought-provoking and hope-provoking messages. Our goal is to instill hope by way of action, showing the students that they can make an impact on a personal, as well as a systems change level to address planetary health, aka the environmental crisis. Causes of climate change and biodiversity loss are addressed, but the majority of the presentation is solutions-oriented, helping to mitigate the anxiety and helplessness students may feel by empowering them with the knowledge that they can, in fact, become instruments of change, whether in small or in big ways. They will learn that they are not alone and that there are people of all ages who have been working tirelessly towards a shared vision of a healthy, equitable and sustainable society. Examples of youth climate initiatives as well as groups and organizations that are geared towards young people will be highlighted. As of May 2024, the Jellyfish Project has delivered presentations to over 120,000 students!
We welcome doing two or three in-person presentations on the same day in the same school to enable smaller audiences and greater interactivity. We can also do two presentations on the same day in different schools that are no more than a half-hour driving distance apart.

The Jellyfish Project's 2024/25 musician presenters are: Avery Florence, and Carmine. Avery, a soft-soul artist, merges her passion for music and nature. In 2022 she produced Wake Up!, a musical tour across Canada bringing together communities to inspire environmental activism. Avery released her debut EP "January" in 2018 followed by a sold-out tour in Ontario and NYC. Carmine is Vancouver Island’s newest alt-rock band, now with 100% fewer guitarists! Sultry vocals float above punchy piano, while driving bass lines meld seamlessly with grooving beats. Carmine is a band dedicated to one thing: getting as many bodies on the dance floor as humanly possible.
Thank you for coming to present at our school! It was great, and I love how you are so passionate about helping the environment, and how you stepped up to a big challenge that isn’t only making a difference in our environment, but it’s also making a difference in how youth around Canada feel more inspired and encouraged to help change the world for the better. Thank you for what you do! And the Fraser Environment Club will definitely keep in touch with you! Charlotte, Grade 7 student at W.A. Fraser Middle School - October 2023

Jellyfish Project delivered a presentation at my school in Regina when I was a kid. It lit a fire under me that has never been put out. My eyes and mindset widened; I felt empowered and connected to the world and the crisis we're facing for the first time ever. Now, at 25, that presentation still reminds me that I am empowered to make a change and I have chosen to spend my professional and personal time working to fight the climate crisis and build a more sustainable world.
