KUNDA, meaning "family", fronted by Kocassale Dioubate, a Mandingo-tribe griot (descendant of a long line of traditional singers, musicians and keepers of tribal history) from Guinea, West Africa, is driven to share their vibrant heritage through music and dance, promoting respect and awareness of ethnic diversity, and encouraging people of all backgrounds to unify in peace and harmony, as one world, one love and one people... one family.

A vibrant and colourful presentation of artistic culture, music and dance from Guinea and other regions of Africa, KUNDA showcases authentic handmade traditional instruments, exotic costumes, explosive percussion, high-energy dances, joyful melodies, soothing instrumental pieces and great vocals. Diverse and interactive, involving the audience through call-and-response song, dance and clapping, KUNDA's show is equally entertaining and educational, giving an insightful taste of African culture.

These fun and interactive African cultural workshops allow students the chance to experiment with traditional percussion instruments and dance movements while learning about their historical and cultural context. Through call-and-response songs, and repeat-after-me exercises, participants will learn language and vocabulary in Koca's African dialects. KUNDA introduces different tools used regularly in West African households (grass brooms, gourds, baskets, etc) while also touching on subjects such as demography and geography.
